“Three days of real work to deliver income results for the charity “The Shirlie Project”
The students of Master FRAME reached their (almost) final destination with the Field Experience: an opportunity to put into practice the skills acquired over the master course. For three days our students worked hard to implement the very first fundraising strategy of The Shirlie Project.
The Field Experience took place in Inverness (Scotland) with the participation of 10 students of Master FRAME in FundRaising Management in the NGOs Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, Social Media, Campaigns under the supervision of Giampiero Giacomel, Director of the Master.
“The field experience in Inverness has been extraordinarily engaging and demanding. What impressed me most has been that at the end of the 3 days we have realized that we had not only did an exercise but we sent real emails and letters to real people, real prospect donors and this for me was a bath of reality. Priceless”, said one of the students involved in the Field Experience.
The students had the opportunity to take part of a real fundraising strategy, liaising with the organisation management and engaging with local stakeholders, prospect donors and partners. This gave the chance of using in a real context all the skills acquired during the Master. They ran a fundraising event, made prospect research, used a real database, made a telephone campaign and an written appeal to raise further support from individuals and trusts.
Using the words of our students: “I think it was powerful raising funds to allow people with mental health problems having their own job and independence. Mostly, what we did as group will have a real impact on the entire organization and on the highlands community”.
