Lodovico Mariani
Lodovico Mariani, is a senior expert in international cooperation – with a specific focus on Humanitarian Aid. His professional career developed on two tracks:
- Management – mainly with NGOs. In the field and in the HQs. And also both in operational (logistics, programme support) and support positions (e.g. HR, admin);
- Training – both for experienced and entry level professionals.
He has a Political Science degree – for the past 15 years he worked in areas of crisis and conflict, such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Lebanon, South Sudan, Iraq, Sri Lanka and Philippines. He also worked on social issues in his own country, Italy.
He teaches Project Cycle Management in Emergencies, Result Based Management, Humanitarian Finance and Logistic and Security Management in various training schools and universities.
He worked as Human Resources and Training Expert at INTERSOS; based in Rome with missions in the countries of intervention. For the same NGO served as Country Representative in Iraq and Afghanistan, and then as Area Administrator for Asia and Middle East. He worked also as Finance and Administrative Director of AMREF Health Africa Italia. Before approaching the humanitarian aid sector, he worked in the social cooperation field in Italy, as manager of social cooperatives.
