Giancarla Pancione

Giancarla was born in Torre Orsaia (SA) on 30 January 1971.
In 1997 she graduated in Political Science at the Unversity Orientale in Naples with a thesis on Socialist countries.
Bewtween 1998 and 1999 she attented a Master Program at the Birkbeck College (University of London) writing a thesis on the right to asylum. During her post-master internship, she came into contact with Fundraising and was absolutely fascinated by it. Since then she has been working for a number of different organizations in the Non Profit Sector. Her first working experience took place in the UK at Amnesty International in the role of Donors Development Assistant. What followed was a six-months experience in Vancouver at the Chamber of Commerce where she organized events for Italian and Canadian companies.
Between 2001 and 2004 she worked as Direct Marketing Officer at Amnesty International- Italy. She also worked as Direct Marketing Manager at l’UNHCR for two years.
She has been working at Save the Children Italy since 2006 where she is responsible for fundraising campaigns for individual donors.
Giancarla has been a trainer in fundraising techniques and strategies both in Social Change School Master Programs and at La Sapienza University in Rome and at the University of Bologna. She also collaborates with a number of smaller training schools.
She hates the routine and she is constantly looking for new challenges. She believes that being a fundraiser is one of the most rewarding jobs in the worlds.
Her motto in life is ““Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”
