Simona Biancu
Simona is the founder and CEO of ENGAGEDin s.r.l. , an international strategic consulting company on fundraising and philanthropy based in Alessandria (Italy), where she deals with consulting and training, particularly regarding strategic consulting on the development of fundraising, major donors, corporate and legacy fundraising, Board development, strategic philanthropy.
Graduated in Political Science with a political-social specialization, she specialized in fundraising and in Strategic Philanthropy.
For years she has collaborated with non-profit organizations, universities, health, and cultural institutions in many different countries, and holds courses and conferences at an international level on fundraising, philanthropy, board development, corporate social responsibility.
Among her professional and personal interests, Simona is passionate about feminism and feminist philanthropy, on which she writes and lectures internationally.
She co-authored the blog “Welcome on Board”, on the issues of governance and leadership, and the volumes “Board in the front row” (Maggioli ed., 2020) and “Low coast parties? Ten tips for a more responsible and transparent policy ” (EdizioniEpokè, 2014). She writes about fundraising, philanthropy, Board development on publications and blogs.
She has numerous experiences as Board member of organizations and institutions in different countries.
She is currently Vice-President of ASSIF (Italian Fundraiser Association) and responsible for its “Europe and international” focus, Board member of EFA (European Fundraising Association) and European Lung Foundation.
Member of AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals) and AFP-International Development Forum.
She is passionate about sports and practices swimming and running. She loves walking – at least once a year you can find her on the trails, backpacking and walking for miles to travel and rediscover her relationship with silence and nature.
Simona has always been an omnivorous reader, with a predilection for biographies. She loves theatre, cinema, classical music. And she travels a lot to cultivate a fundamental thing: curiosity.
