PMC students in Madrid for the Workshop on “Monitoring and Evaluation Techniques & Processes in Project Management”

“Project Management Monitoring and Evaluation Techniques & Processes” was the last Workshop of this year for our fellows who started the Master PMC- Project Management for International Cooperation, Euro-Project Management and Local Development in June 2017.

The four days in Madrid, from the 14th to the 17th of December, at the co-working space La Industial, in the wonderful Barrio of Malasaña, have been intense and rich in laboratories during which the students could put into practice the theory and tools acquired thanks to Alessio Di Carlo, Co-Director of the Master PMC, and Vice-President of COOPERACTION ONLUS.

The first day focused on “PROJECT MANAGEMENT ON THE FIELD – Planning and management of supplies, costs, timings, activities”: the students had the opportunity to see in details the startup of a project on the field.

Day 2 and 3 were dedicated to Project Monitoring, the lecturer covered concepts such as the criteria of Monitoring and Evaluation, the Logical Framework as a tool for Evaluation, providing both theory and practice to the students on the creation of monitoring matrixes and indicators of Efficiency, Effectiveness and Context.

The final day was focused on “THE FINANCIAL REPORTING OF A PROJECT” and on the “PROJECT CLOSURE AND DONOR CONTROL”.

The students also had the occasion to celebrate the Christmas Jumper Day, initiative promoted in Italy by Save The Children.

This experience in Madrid was greatly appreciated by the students. They participated actively and with engagement to all the workshops and they achieved a greater awareness of the most important tools of Project Management on the field.
